"The Blue Ribbon of Service Award"
Ridge Spring Congratulates
|It is a great pleasure for me, as the 1995 chairman, to extend to you a warm welcome to our 14th Annual Harvest Festival. We are proudly recognizing the Merchants of our great town to which we give "The Blue Ribbon Of Service Award".
We hope you will enjoy yourselves and that you will return to your homes with pleasant recollections of what you have seen and done here today.
-- Orvis Maddox, 1995 Harvest Festival Chairperson
Each merchant was recognized at the gazebo and given a blue ribbon to wear. The beautiful ribbons were made by festival chairperson Orvis Maddox. The festival booklet contained many interesting articles and photos of local businesses.
The 122nd Engineering Unit of the National Guard cleared the lot on Green Street, which will be the future site of the Ridge Spring Fire Department. The Fire Department obtained a new 1500 gallon tanker.
A.G. Rutland served as the 1995 Grand Marshall. Newly elected mayor Jimmy Gillian was on hand to help make everyone feel welcome. A Pedal-Tractor Pull was held for the children near the caboose.
